DragonBall is a Japanese media franchise created in 1984 by Akira Toriyama. The initial manga, written and illustrated by Toriyama, was serialized in the weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1995, with 519 individual chapters collected by its publisher Shueisha in 42 tankobon editions.
DragonBall was initially inspired by the 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West as well as the Hong Kong martial arts films.
The main character and the hero of this anime, Son Goku, follows a thrill from childhood through adulthood as he undergoes training in martial arts. He spends his childhood away from civilization until he meets a teenage girl named Bulma, who joins him in his quest to discover the world in search of seven jewels known as Dragon Balls. Whenever someone assembled the Dragonball it summon a willful dragon. The dragon will fullfil one wish of that person.
Along his journey, Goku makes many other friends, becomes a family man, discovers his alien heritage, and fights a variety of villains, many of whom also seek out the DragonBall.

Dragon Ball
Toei Animation previously produced an anime television series based on 194 manga chapters, also known as Dragon Ball. The series premiered in Japan on Fuji Television on February 26, 1986, and lasted 153 episodes until April 19, 1989. It is broadcast in 81 countries around the world.
Dragon Ball Z
Instead of continuing the anime as DragonBall, Toy Animation decided to go ahead with its adaptation under a new name and asked Akira Toriyama to come up with the title. Five years after the first series was released, Dragon Ball Z adopted the final 325 chapters of the manga.
It premiered in Japan on Fuji Television on 26 April 1989, at its predecessor time slot, and ran for 291 episodes until its conclusion on 31 January 1996. Two television specials based on the Z series were broadcast on Fuji TV in Japan.
The first, The True Final Battle ~ The Jade Warrior Who Challenged Frezza – Son Goku Father ~, The Changed Bardock – The Father of Goku Fiction, was shown on October 17, 1990. Second special, disobedience in the face of despair! ! The remaining Super-Warriors: Gohan and Trunk is based on a special chapter in the original manga and aired on February 24, 1993
Dragon Ball Kai
The series premiered in Fuji TV in Japan from April 5, 2009 to March 27, 2011. Dragon Ball Z Kai reduced the number of episodes from the original footage of 291 episodes to 159 episodes (167 episodes internationally). In this series there are 7 seasons.
Dragon Ball Super
On April 28, 2015, Toi Animation announced DragonBall Super, the first all-new Dragon Ball television series to be released in 18 years. It debuted on 5 July and ran as a weekly series on Fuji TV at 9:00 pm on Sunday, until its series concluded on 25 March 2018 after 131 episodes. Masako Nozawa reprized her roles as Goku, Gohan and Goten. Most of the original cast reprise their roles. Koichi Yamadera and Masakaju Morita also reprise their roles as Beerus and Whis, respectively.
The anime story is set several years after the defeat of Majin Buu, when the Earth has once again become peaceful. Akira Toriyama is credited as the original creator, as well as “original story and character design concepts”. It is also being adapted into a parallel manga.
Super Dragon Ball Hero’s
It premiered on July 1, 2018. Super DragonBall Heroes is presented with a number of alternate scenarios and possible outcomes within the franchise, It take place after Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Super: Broly. It has 26 episodes now.
